My life as a photographer began when I received a Polaroid Swinger as a Christmas gift when I was a teenager. Through the years I have enjoyed experimenting with film photography and my Canon AE-1 before moving into the digital age. As I began taking photos to document my changing community, especially gentrification and displacement, I sought ways to create intentionality and integrity into my documentation. Currently I am enrolled in the certificate program at the Duke Center for Documentary Studies. My husband and I reside in my native city of Charlotte, North Carolina and we love to travel. My photography portfolio consists primarily of documentary and travel photos, sometimes combining the two. In addition to photography, i enjoy running, practicing yoga, and reading.
